130The First Twelve Days
This trip has been a whirlwind. In the best kind of way! I´ve been away from Cali for more than two weeks now, but it feels like a completely different lifetime. Obviously, I have failed on the blog front. But when given the choice of dancing with a cute Argentinian and writing on tumblr…I think it´s pretty self-explanatory. However, for the sake of my family and friends who keep asking about my travels and my future self wanting to go down memory lane, I will post a bit about each city Kenj and I have been to thus far. Miss you all- but not that much ;).

0There’s a certain threshold of waiting in an airport terminal, that when passed, I become completely okay with the title of “that crazy girl in gate 18.” I write this as I lay in full straddle on the ground using the chair my butt should be sitting on as a desk for my iPad. And guess what, haters? I’m not sorry about it. I have been sitting in the international terminal of the Toronto Airport for the past - wait for it - SEVEN hours. And this gangsta’s still got an hour to go. Now it’s difficult to bitch about anything being that I’m spending the next two months of my life traveling around South America, but don’t worry I’m up for the challenge! Actually, with the exception of some pretty questionable spinach dip, my layover hasn’t been too unbearable. Thanks in large part to skyping with my family and friends and also to my passion for Temple Run (I’m told it’s the new Angry Birds). Anyways, I’m about to board. Santiago here I come!
0I had to get my blood drawn today. Before she starts the nurse says to me, “Now don’t be nervous!” To which I respond, “Oh don’t worry, I’m a pro with needles!” …. why am I like this?
0woah.

No big deal…just a TWENTY-ONE year old drinking a margarita the size of her face.
0Muffins, Horses, and Trampolines - 2011
Oh 2011, you did me good. This year has been better than so many in recent memory (and because of the alcohol problem this memory is limited to two years- just kidding, Mom!).
I am grateful to have met so many wonderful people, and even more grateful not to be in prison with them. I tried new hobbies, graduated college, traveled, got crazy jobs/internships/STDs (just kidding, Grammy!), and most of all really found myself (that part may sound like I’m being sarcastic, but I’m actual fo’ reals).
2011 has been full of a lot of great moments, but here are a few I especially loved.
- My best friend and I started a baking company. It was called “My Muffin Baking Co.” Many people were interested in My Muffin, but unfortunately due to lack of commitment on the part of “The Big Muffin Masters”, My Muffin was unable to please the masses of the Central Coast. There is hope, however. Once Kendall comes back from Chile, and graduates college, and moves to LA, and starts baking, you can have My Muffin any time of the day. My Muffin even has a website. http://youlovemymuffin.wordpress.com/
- I took a beautiful trip to Norcal and this happened.

- Winter quarter I took a riding class. I met incredible people and got to look at this view everyday.

- I saw Mumford and Sons, Edward Sharpe, and Old Crow Medicine Show at the Railroad Revival Tour in Tempe. I was surrounded by marijuana and “ironic” t-shirts. But I made a few friends. Even if they were dirty hipsters.
- On a very sad note, a dear, dear
friendbrother passed away. This was the first time someone close to me actually died. But it taught me so much and genuinely made me think about life differently. Boomer, you were awesome. I will never forget “Penny lane is in my ears and in my ASS!” I miss you.

- On a lighter note, I lost 10 pounds! (See what I did there…lighter note. Ha ha! Shouldn’t God have saved some wit for everyone else?)
- I made a facebook status that said “I’m so happy pizza is a thing.” It got 10 likes.
- I went to San Francisco for the first time and jumped in this room made of trampolines.

- I dressed in a traditional Indian Sari for one of the dances I performed in at the Cal Poly Spring show. You know you go to a white school when they enlist me for an Indian dance. Keep up the diversity SLO!
- I discovered Flight of the Concords and memorized the Hiphopopotamus Rap.
- I FREAKING GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!

- Went to a Matt and Kim concert. Went to a Maroon 5 concert. Went to a Train concert. Then saw U2 in concert. NO ONE is better than U2.
- My stupid whore best friend moved to Chile for a year (but don’t worry I’m visiting her for TWO MONTHS in 15 daysssss!!)
- Met a gorilla in Barnes and Nobles. He was reading the “The Gospel According to Paul.”

- Got a job at a haunted movie theater.
- Quit job at haunted movie theater.
- Went on a rec dive.

- Read the Hunger Games. Will never be able to read another book. The Hunger Games is like the big black guy that ruined you for all other men (just kidding Mom, Dad, Brother, Grandma, and all previous youth pastors).
- I went to my very first fur protest.

- I moved back to LA. Then immediately visited family on the east for three weeks (where I drove a race car, and dove in Epcot’s tank.)
- Got an internship writing at this SUPA awesome website.

- Took a writing class at UCLA.
- Went to Hawaii to see my dad get married.

- I fell in love with the Big Bang Theory.
- I performed some of my songs at Haiku’ed.

- And one of my most favorite things of the entire year…I surprised my brother for his birthday and took him to Boston for a weekend which included a Patriots game and City and Colour concert. Seriously, one of the greatest weekends of my life. My brother and I are naturally really awkward and douchey, but it exceeded normal levels on this trip and left us with some awesome inside jokes and memories. You a champ, kid!

Any normal person should have stopped at the black penis reference but if you made it this far, congrats? I genuinely am so grateful for everything 2011 gave me and I just know 2012 is gonna kick some major ass.
-Until next time, Ans
1Reboot - 2012!
I’ve never really used this blog as an actual blog. I’ve posted some of my pictures or had an angst filled rant every now and then, but I mostly just reblog other people’s posts because who doesn’t like plagiarism? But I’ve had an exciting past few months, and I’m going to have an exciting next few months, so I thought I’d actually make this a thing! So look out tumblr world (and the friends I’m forcing to read this), Ansley is about to share way too much of her personal life and leave you all a little bit scarred. Enjoy!
